Michael Crabtree has told the 49ers that he is prepared to sit out the 2009 season and re-enter the draft in 2010. This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard...ever. He reportedly wants top pick money, one problem, he was not a top pick.
He should of been but was not, therefore he will not get top money. For him to make these comments is ridiculous. It would be an absolute circus for him to actually do this and come back next year.
My prediction...they reach a deal soon and we forget about all of this nonsense...that is all.
An NFL player singed a six year $97 Million extension...we must be talking about one of the best players in the NFL right...no...who is it then...Eli Manning...really...well that makes little sense...don't get me wrong Eli has certainly proved he is more then just Archie's son and Peyton's Brother, but getting paid money like this means you are a top three QB in the league...I have him at 6...I understand its New York and a big market and blah blah...I just don't think that he deserves this kind of money...I mean has he really earned a bigger signing bonus then his brother...I think he will continue to be a very good QB and help the Giants win games...I just believe $97 Mill is too much
Moving on...Sox @ Yanks tonight...Joba VS Smoltz...Yanks have been playing well and Sox have been struggling as of late...but the Yankees have not found a way to beat the Sox yet this year...maybe tonight's the night
Lefty is coming back to the tour after tending to his ill wife and mother...gotta love Phil and I certainly wish him the best
Reggie Bush got "hurt" yesterday at camp...he was reportedly limping around at practice...but as soon as the Saints heard that the media had been saying he was hurt they promptly denied it...I'm not quite sure what to make of this...if he was limping he was probably hurt right...
Brandon Roy signed an extension yesterday...he is one of the best young stars in the game...he deserves this if nothing else for that crazy game winning jumper he hit last year...
That's all I got for now...check back tonight for another team just outside the top 25...
ESPN just dropped their top 150 recruits in the class of 2010. Scout has done a great job, the list is clean, easy to read, and they have video for almost every player.
I will be checking this out for a while. The first thing that I noticed is that the rich are certainly getting richer. Florida is all over this list as are the other big programs, this comes as no surprise. If I find anything good or noteworthy I will be sure to write about it. Here is the list.
Albert is a beast...his line last night...4-5 with three runs five RBI...and 2 mojos...oh did I mention one of his mojos was a granny in the 10th inning...monster stud
I watched the story of the wrestler with no legs on ESPN last night...it was really good and worth a watch
Eight pitches have taken no hitters into the 8th inning this year...only one has come out untouched...I guess no hitters are pretty hard huh
The NBA schedules were released yesterday...Celtics, Lakers, and the Lebrons are the headlines...surprise surprise
Almost forgot Longoria hit a walk of to beat the Red Sox
Clay Matthews playing beside AJ Hawk is pretty scary...they could be a force...plus they both have great flow...if they both keep growing their flows it will be like having two Ultimate Warriors out there on Sunday...talk about intimidation...
Alright well that about takes care of it for this morning...
ESPN completed their college football mock draft today. To get more info on the process head over here. Alright so no list is perfect, and obviously I have some problems with this one.
Michigan- Tradition, tradition , and tradition. Big blue deserves to be in the top 10 despite a couple down years. Drop Georgia and put em in. Miami- They produce great NFL players. Aside from that they were winning a lot not too long ago. I move them all the way into the top 20 from where ESPN has them at 24. Boise State is great as of late but no one can say that have brought the total package over time as has Miami. Utah- At 17 I think they are 3-5 spots too high. Seriously Utah over Auburn, Miami, and BYU yea BYU. Not making sense on this end. West Virginia- They come in at #28, in my mind they are a solid top 25 team. Things are looking a little suspect right now but this list is not only about the future of programs, but also what they have accomplished over the years. Oklahoma State- Yikes, way to high. Seriously nothing else needs to be said. Kansas- Kind of a shady pick but it comes late at #38, I would have them outside looking in.
Michael Oher has a great life story so far. Even good enough to be a movie; I will be checking this out for sure. [DeadSpin]
Mike Vick was tossing the football around at a local HS. This seriously brings back memories. Am I the only one who thinks he looks huge? Seriously he looks really big I guess they still lift in jail. [WithLeather]
MaxPreps put together a nice list of the top HS players of the past decade. It's HS so a lot of research had to be done here, and I think they came up with a pretty good list. [MaxPreps]
How often do you get two sweet kicks to the face in one week...
And another knockout...why not...two fighters and two KO's
Does Urban Meyer deserve to be the highest paid coach in college football?...others are definitely worthy but I don't think you can argue with Meyer...quick list of other schools I would assume to be in the convo USC...LSU...Texas...maybe Okla...Bama(I know Saben makes bank)...
Fedor aka the best MMA fighter the casual fan has never heard of (and never will because of this) has decided to not sign with UFC...He chose StrikeForce instead...Dana White was pissed...UFC is not exactly stacked in the HW division but he certainly would of made a lot of money...and been able to fight Brock...
Maclin reached a five year deal with the Eagles...he is good and can help them a lot...I'm thinking he might be a good fantasy player...
Who is the best team in baseball?...you can make a good argument for at least 4 teams...
Not a big news day so far...if anything breaks be sure to come back...humpday is close...

LenDale White is one of my favorite players in the NFL. He is fat, lovable(no dissrespect), and does stuff like this. White tried a new diet this summer, not low fat, or low carb, but no Patron. The results, white reported to camp 30 pounds lighter. This new diet is just another reason I love him.
I am truly amazed this worked as well as it did. This means that White must of been drinking a whole lot of Patron. I heard some experts discussing this and they were saying White most likely was drinking between 10-15 shots three times a week, wow. Now who knows how accurate these numbers are, but if they are even close that is a lot of Tequila.
With this new body of his maybe he can churn out some long runs. He is already a touchdown machine and a great compliment back to Chris Johnson, this is great news for the Titans.
Had to post this video...one of my favs...great dance...
Oh...I almost forgot...a guy getting kicked in the face...
Rachel Alexandra blew away the field of colts at the Haskel winning by more then 6 lengths...the field included the strong colt Summer Bird...Alexandra has won all seven of her races this year...is she one of the best ever?
Speaking of best ever...Tiger demolished the competition this weekend shooting -20
Percy Harvin finally singed and ESPN showed clips of him taking snaps at RB...things could get interesting in Minny...Knowshon Moreno also singed...then got hurt...not the best way to start you career
Melky hit for the cycle as the Yanks beat the White Sox...ending with a triple in the ninth as Dye badly misplayed a deep fly ball
Phelps and his team set another WR...
Danny Way took big air gold...injured...these guys are so tough...Ty Morrow took silver in BMX park
That's the big news from this morning so far...check back this afternoon if anything else major happens...
As always make sure to head over to Ballinisahabit.net for the daily morning link dump...
The next team on my just a bit outside list is East Carolina. ECU looked really good last season as they started 3-0 beating the likes of Virginia Tech, West Virgina, and Tulane. But then they lost three straight to North Carolina State, Houston, and Virginia.
(Patrick Pinkney will have some work to do in 09')
They finished 9-5 ending the season with a loss to Kentucky in the Liberty Bowl.
ECU has a lot of potential, and has a good crop of returning players to make something happen this year. On offense they return last years starting QB Patrick Pinkney. Pinkney is a solid veteran leader, but will need to improve to help ECU suceed. Last year he struggled at times throwing 13 TD's along with 7 INT's. ECU certainly made some noise early in the 08' season; Pinkney will be responsible for making that happen again in 09'.
Hit the jump for the full team preview.
ECU lost thier top two rushers from last season, this could be a weak spot for the Pirates as they look for someone to step up to fill the void. With Norman Whitley and Brandon Simmons gone ECU will look for Jonathan Williams to step up immediately.
Williams has the most experience in the backfield ; if he can play well early it will give others a chance to step up. They do have talent at the position in Brandon Jackson; look for Jackson to get his share of carries early as ECU tries to establish the running game.
Defense is clearly the better unit for the Pirates this year as they have three preseason all confrence players. One of those players is C.J. Wilson. Wilson was selected by the coaches as the preseason C-USA defensive player of the year.
CJ Wilson is a beast on the outside for the Pirates
(credit nationalchamps.net)
Wilson lead the Pirates in sacks last season with 10.5. He led all ECU lineman with 70 stops, and will start the 09' season with 23 consecutive starts, one shy of the all time record at ECU. Linval Joseph and Jay Ross will join Wilson on the D-line and should provide plenty of help. Both Jospeh and Ross are capable of making plays, this should help draw double teams away from Wilson.
If ECU wants to make some noise and be successful this year they need to find a running back that can carry the load. If the Pirates can move the ball and score some points their defense should be able to take care of the rest.
Projected Record: 8-4
CJ Wilson has NFL caliber talent look for him to be a force in 09'
Mason is going to put the pads back on after all, this is really good news for the Ravens as they were looking pretty depleted in the passing game.[WashingtonPost]
Vikings QB Tarvaris Jackson sprained his MCL this morning at practice. This is not good news as the Vikings don't have any QB's that have ever done anything in the NFL. The Favre thing was a huge setback, and now this. His status is day to day but who knows if this will be a lingering issue.[MankatoPress]
Just in case you miss basketball and/or are getting sick of dudes getting laid out...if your not I've got one for ya here...
